It is difficult to get a hold of all the grass root music festivals that happen in America, but we have meticulously selected a list of prominent music festivals that showcase pure grass root talents. South by Southwest Music and Media Conference (March)

This music festival features over 1800 music performances from grass root musicians from all parts of the world and happens in more than 80 stages scattered throughout downtown Austin. The festival occurs even in other venues and is a full-blown grass root link up for various upcoming artists looking to break their way into freedom. The festival started out in the 1980s as just a musical and media event but have grown to a full-scale celebration of art and culture. The festival now includes a grass root film festival and even media conference programs to the delight of their guests. Lots of business deal happen during the day while good music is enjoyed all through the night.

Austin City Limits Music Festival (October)

This is a three-day music festival held in Zilker Park, Austin city. The festival is one of the largest music gatherings in the town with over 130 musical performances scattered over eight stages in the town. You will enjoy all kinds of grass root musical presentations, from bluegrass, hard rock, hip-hop to even reggae. Local performers now stand a chance of displaying their talents in this beautiful show of music.

Old Settler’s Music Festival (April)

Old Settler’s Music Festival differs from other Austin music festivals mainly in its orientation, mostly designated as “roots” or Americana music. Held at the Salt Lick Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch, the nationally recognized music festival is put on the and family friendly. It offers the unique distinction of being held during the peak of the bluebonnet and wildflower season, making its Texas Hill Country location even better. Minor festivals continue to develop and grow as Austin lends itself to a continuing (and expanding audience) for all types of music. Also, many of the festivals benefit charities in the Austin area.

Red Gorilla Music Fest (March)

The event primarily showcases new and upcoming talent and features over 500 artists performing in 10 stages across the venue. The mission is to promote grass root music and helping all forthcoming and independent artists find their feet in the ever competitive music world.
