Four new websites, each built within 60 minutes
During Un-convention Groningen 2010, our friends from Two Kings created new websites for four lucky bands. The sites are almost complete and will be released shortly, but you can already take a look at them here: The Black Atlantic, Corijn, Rue Royale, The Cosmic Carnival.
Two Kings did not just pull these websites out of thin air, but they came prepared with a special version of PivotX (the open source content management system that powers these new websites). Doing so, they were able to focus mainly on the design of the sites.
Each site has a number of basic features that we believe any band’s website should have as defaults:
- News – what’s up with your act? what’s happening?
- Shows – where do you perform?
- Media – video’s. music, etc
- About – why? how? A little (or a lot) of background to the band
- Discography – what did you release?
- Press – stuff that is written about you
- Store – whatever the band wants to sell
- Photos – they sure do look good, don’t they?
- The typical connections to the various social platforms
- A built in music player and Twitter-column
The guys from Codigy worked with Two Kings to sync the content of the band’s website to new iPhone apps, which means that the band only needs to update their info in one location to feed both their website and an iPhone app (should they choose to get on, that is).
Two Kings will release the basic website as an open source download soon, for all to use. Hail to Two Kings!
